mama cash’s house
from johnny cash posted in music by pete_nice
Johnny Cash originally purchased this ranch house for his parents. As his health deteriorated in his final days, it was difficult for him to get around in a wheel chair in the lake house across the street, so he lived in this house (nicknamed "Mama Cash's house").

hitler’s birthplace
from adolf hitler, fascism posted in history by pete_nice
On April 20, 1889, Adolf Hitler, the world's most evil vegetarian, was born in this apartment building in Upper Austria, just across the river from Germany.
Today, the future of the building is being debated; it is most likely to end up as high-end apartments.
A memorial stone fashioned from a slab of rock from the former Mauthausen Concentration Camp, near Linz, Austria sits outside the building.
It reads: "For peace, freedom and democracy / never again fascism / millions of dead admonish."

chateau marmont
from john belushi posted in movies by pete_nice
Built in 1927 by a prominent Los Angeles lawyer, the Chateau Marmont was constructed in a Gothic design to mimic a royal retreat in France's Loire Valley.
The series of bungalows have been a favorite spot for Hollywood celebrities for years.
On March 4, 1982, John Belushi had been partying at the secret club above the Roxy called On The Rox, and later at The Rainbow Room.
Belushi went back to the Chateau Marmont Bungalow #3 with Cathy Smith (former back-up singer for The Band and drug dealer) and Nelson Lyon (writer for SNL). Belushi kept asking Smith to shoot him up with heroin since he was afraid of needles.
That night, Robin Williams stopped by and did some lines with the group but was creeped out by Smith. Robert DeNiro also stopped by around 3 a.m. and left shortly after.
Belushi was found by his personal trainer, Bill Wallace, the next day dead from a heroin overdose. He was 33 years old.
