The town of Los Cerrillos (or just Cerrillos if you're a local) was a filming location for the 1988 film Young Guns. Standing in for Lincoln, NM, the town of Los Cerrillos was a mining boom town in the late 19th century. Today, the Cerrillos Turquoise Mining Museum contains many mining and Old West artifacts, as well as information on Young Guns. Many scenes from the film were shot in and around Cerrillos, including the peyote-eating scene.

The downtown of Plano, Illinois was a filming location for Man of Steel, standing in for Superman's hometown of Smallville, Kansas.
The storefronts of 7-11, Sears, and IHOP were added as instantly recognizable symbols of Americana (as well as lucrative product placement), only to be immediately destroyed by Kryptonian fisticuffs.
