from grand theft auto: san andreas posted in video games by chewing_the_scenery
The Mulholland Safehouse in Grand Theft Auto's fictional city of Los Santos is based on architect Pierre Koenig's iconic Stahl House in Los Angeles.
FYI: I read that you should save here instead of Madd Dogg's crib, because otherwise you will run into a glitch and you will no longer be able to play basketball... good to know.
the lovell house
from l.a. confidential posted in movies by chewing_the_scenery
The Lovell House is a modernist home in Los Angeles built by architect Richard Neutra. Physician Philip Lovell instructed Neutra to design a house that would enhance the health of its inhabitants, and with the emphasis on healthy living which included a swimming pool, a basketball court, a handball court and a great number of windows, it became known as the Lovell Health House after it was completed in 1929.
In 1997's L.A. Confidential the building was home to pornographer and pimp Pierce Patchett.

best buy
from serial posted in radio by nevereatshreddedwheat
According to Jay (the boyfriend of Adnan's friend Stephanie), Adnan showed him Hae Min Lee's body in the trunk of her car in this Best Buy parking lot on January 13, 1999. Jay's testimony was the basis for the state's case against Adnan.
In episode 05 of WBEZ Chicago's podcast Serial, Sarah Koenig and her producer Dana prove it is possible to drive from WoodLawn High School, immediately after it lets out, to the Best Buy parking lot in under twenty-one minutes. This fits (just barely) the timeline during which the prosecution says Adnan killed Hae.
leakin park
from serial posted in radio by nevereatshreddedwheat
On February 9, 1999 a maintenance man discovered Hae Min Lee's body in Baltimore's Leakin Park. According to Jay's testimony, this is where he and Adnan buried her on January 13th after Adnan killed her.
This part of Adnan's case is covered in episode 03 of WBEZ Chicago's podcast Serial.
Leakin Park, along with Gwynns Falls Park, covers over 1,200 acres and has a reputation in Baltimore as a dumping ground for murder victims. In season four of The Wire Bunk and Freamon search Leakin Park for bodies that they can tie to Marlo.
