Professional wrestler Eddie Guerrero died at this hotel.

From wikipedia: "On November 13, 2005, Guerrero was found unconscious in his hotel room (The Marriott City Center) in Minneapolis, Minnesota...Eddie Guerrero was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived on the scene. He was 38 years old. An autopsy revealed that Guerrero died as a result of acute heart failure due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease."

paisley park

Paisley Park Studios is where the Great Purple One (Prince) occasionally recorded. Something akin to the Willy Wonka Candy Factory, its status is continually a subject of mystery. I worked on a commercial here once, shot in the large sound stage area. Prince has thrown after-parties here sporadically in the last decade. Apparently, there are a number of rooms off-limits to nearly everybody, including a worship area since Prince is reportedly a devout Jehovah's Witness.

There is a statue near the intersection of 7th street and Nicollet Mall. The pose is Mary Tyler Moore throwing her hat in the air.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show was set in Minneapolis, and co-starred Ed Asner as the gruff and lovable boss.

It was also one of the earliest shows to focus on an independent woman balancing her career and personal life.

mickey’s diner

Mickey's Diner is an old school Art-Deco diner car, made and installed before World War II. Apparently, it has been operating non-stop since then. Featured in a number of movies, it also has good comfort food and delicious shakes.

There is a second location down W. 7th st, but this is the location featured in several films.

fiztgerald theater

The movie is a take-off of the popular MPR radio program hosted by Garrison Keillor. While the radio program often travels to different locations, the majority of the programs are recorded at this theater in downtown St. Paul.

"A Prairie Home Companion" (2006) was the last film directed by Robert Altman.

The theater is named for F. Scott Fitzgerald, who wrote books.
