abel’s hill cemetery

from john belushi posted in movies by donkeyoti

John Belushi is buried at Abel's Hill Cemetery on Martha's Vineyard. Although his body was dug up once and moved (because of people desecrating the grave), he is still buried at this location, at least according to something I read on the internet.

The headstone is engraved with a skull and crossbones and reads, "I may be gone, but Rock and Roll lives on."

jackie treehorn’s house

from the big lebowski posted in movies by donkeyoti

When the Dude finds himself face-to-face with the pornographer Jackie Treehorn, it's at this location.

The home, also known as the Sheats-Goldstein House, was designed and built from 1961-1963 by American architect John Lautner. Located in the hills of the Beverly Crest neighborhood, the home's use of the Organic Architecture style was built into the sandstone cliffs and meant to evoke a cave-like dwelling.

The home has appeared in the films The Big Lebowski (1998), Bandits (2001), and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003).

View a tour and interview with current owner James Goldstein here.

Located three blocks from the beach in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles, the Dude's cottage is one of a series of six on a quarter-acre lot that were constructed in 1928.

When The Big Lebowski came out in 1998, the area was much seedier (read: affordable) than it is today. The cottages were listed on the market in 2011 for $2,295,000.
