The Silverlake Conservatory of Music is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable music education. It provides private music lessons at reasonable rates, gives grants to children in need by providing free lessons and instruments, and has eight air-conditioned studio spaces available for education and practice.
Flea and Anthony Kiedis (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) are members of the board of directors, while the rest of the RHCP are on the honorary board, along with Tim Armstrong of Rancid and Metallica.

"Prop. 215 (the California Compassionate Use Act) was enacted by the voters and took effect on Nov. 6, 1996. This law removes criminal penalties for personal use possession and cultivation of marijuana for medical purposes by patients (and their designated “primary caregivers”) who have a physician’s recommendation or approval" (from KushDr.com).
