the figure 8 wall

The mural Elliott Smith stands in front of on the cover of his fifth and final album Figure 8 is located on the wall of the Solutions! audio-video repair shop in Los Angeles.

In 2017 a bar opened next door, and they partially destroyed the mural in order to install some sweet windows. Bar Angeles, named after the Elliott Smith Either/Or track “Angeles," moved that portion of the mural indoors, but that bar has since been replaced by a Filipino restaurant that doesn't seem to have kept the mural as part of its interior decor.

wayne’s house

Wayne's World is set in the Chicago suburb of Aurora, but Wayne's house from the 1992 movie is here in Van Nuys. Garth's house, apparently renovated since filming, is right across the street.

home of joe cole & henry rollins

Henry Rollins & Joe Cole, collectively known as "The Chosen One", lived at this address in the early 1990's.
It was here where the two friends would often hate-watch Sylvester Stallone movies.

Cole would ultimately lose his life at this location in a still unsolved murder, while Rollins narrowly escaped.

millard house

Frank Lloyd Wright designed and built the Millard house in 1923.

He built four Mayan Revival-style houses like this in the Los Angeles area in the early 1920s. The Ennis House, which has appeared in dozens of movies and tv shows, is probably the most familiar of this textile-block design.

You can see the Millard House in HBO’s Westworld as the house Arnold is constructing for his family, and it’s also where Ford builds (and Delores tests) Bernard.
