Th Top Ten Club opened in 1960 by Peter Eckhorn. The Beatles played here during their first stint in Hamburg from October-November of 1960. After three of the Beatles had been deported, they returned to Liverpool.
The band returned for a residency at the club from April to July 1961. Eckhorn secured their return by paying 158 deutsche marks to the authorities, the cost of deporting McCartney and Best the previous winter.

Located in the red-light district of Hamburg, the Davidwache (or Reeperbahn, for the street) Police Station is one of the most notorious in Germany.
It was here where Paul McCartney and Pete Best spent three hours on arson charges for setting a condom on fire at the Bambi Kino. They were deported on December 4, 1960.

A former porn theater in Hamburg, the Bambi Kino is most famous for its tenants in the early 60s.
The Beatles arrived in Hamburg on August 17, 1960. Bruno Koschmider, the owner of the Indra and Kaiserkeller clubs in Hamburg, let them stay in the storeroom behind the screen of the theater, which he also owned.
McCartney later said: "We lived backstage in the Bambi Kino, next to the toilets, and you could always smell them. The room had been an old storeroom, and there were just concrete walls and nothing else. No heat, no wallpaper, not a lick of paint; and two sets of bunk beds, with not very much covers—Union Jack flags—we were frozen."
When the Beatles got a better offer in Hamburg, Koschmider reported Harrison as being underage for a work visa, and he was deported on November 30, 1962. McCartney and Best retaliated by nailing a condom to the wall and setting it on fire. They were arrested for arson. Now an apartment building, the cinema entrance was where the garage door now stands.

This club, owned by Bruno Koschmider, hired the Beatles to perform in 1960. They played for the first time on October 4, 1960, for seven hours.
The club owner owned a porn theater, the Bambi Kino, where the Beatles stayed in "small, dirty rooms" while in Hamburg.

The Star Club had a capacity for two thousand people, as well as cinema-style seating.
The Beatles played here from April 13, 1962 to May 31, 1962. It was at this time that they learned of (former bass player) Stu Sutcliffe's death.
They started another round of performances November 1, 1962 until their last performance on December 31, 1962. Ringo Starr had joined the band as the drummer by this point.
Portions of their final performance here at this location were recorded, and a remixed version was released in 1977 as "Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962."
The club closed on December 31, 1969, and the building was destroyed by a fire in 1987.
