jack white’s home [2003 - 2006]

After becoming a commercially successful musician, Jack White moved to the affluent Indian Village neighborhood.
The home was designed by C. Howard Crane, architect of the Detroit’s Fox Theater, Orchestra Hall, and Opera House.
The White Stripes recorded their album “Get Behind Me Satan” in the foyer of this home.
White sold the house in 2006 to move to Nashville, TN.

The found objects displayed in this outdoor art exhibit symbolize the post riot plight of Detroit’s “Black Bottom” neighborhood. Creator Tyree Guyton is the subject of the Emmy Award Winning Documentary, Come Unto Me, the Faces of Tyree Guyton.

The Counting Crows were in town and asked to be dropped off here. They didn't realize the improbability of finding a taxi when they were ready to leave. This isn't exactly a "cab-hailing" part of town.

In Jack White's neighborhood of SW Detroit. The music video's outside shooting was done in front of the hotel, but inside shooting was done elsewhere. Regarded as a home for those without a home.

Parking garage where rap battle takes place in the film. Was a theater from 1927 - 1976. Now is a popular parking area for Tigers and Lions games.
The area you're interested in is on the third floor.
