When Joey Ramone was eighteen, he checked himself into St. Vincent's Hospital. The diagnosis was obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and he felt there were voices that made him repeat things. As Mark Leigh (Joey's brother) put it: "The doctors said...it would render him useless to function in society for the rest of his life."

St. Vincent's Hospital closed on April 30, 2010, after being open for 160 years.

Over the past twenty years this bingo hall and multi-purpose building has been called Viking Hall, XPW Arena, Alhambra Arena and most famously the ECW Arena when Extreme Championship Wrestling ran shows here from 1993-2001.

Scenes from The Wrestler where Mickey Rourke faced the Necro Butcher in a bloody match were shot here in 2008 at a Combat Zone Wrestling show.

This dive bar used to feature live music. On December 11, 2000, it was also the last place that Joey Ramone performed, when he hosted an annual Christmas show that showcased bands he was supporting: the Independents, the Misfits, and his sibling's (Mickey Leigh) band, the Rattlers.

This is the location of the Ramones Museum Berlin. It is well established that Joey Ramone had a love for Germany, and apparently they have reciprocated.

From their website: "RAMONES MUSEUM founder Flo Hayler started his collection of RAMONES memorabilia 18 years ago, launching his insanity with the ticket stub, poster and shirt from his first ever RAMONES concert in 1990."

The space features memorabilia, a cafe (Cafe Mania), and a venue for performances.

forest hills high school

This high school in Forest Hills, Queens, New York has had a number of interesting graduates. Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee and Tommy Ramone all went to school here (1974). Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel also went to school here (1958), as did Jerry Springer (1961) and Ray Romano.

Also, Forest Hills High School is where Peter Parker (aka the Amazing Spiderman) went to school from 1962 to 1965.
