where cliff burton died
from metallica posted in music by nevereatshreddedwheat
Metallica bassist Cliff Burton died here in Sweden during a European tour in 1986. Burton was asleep in his bunk when the tour bus driver lost control. Burton was flung through the window and crushed under the flipped bus. The driver claimed to have hit a patch of black ice and didn't have any charges brought against him for the accident.
In 2006, on the twentieth anniversary of his death, a memorial stone in rural Sweden near Ljungby was erected near a roadside cafe across the street from the site of the accident.
