This location used to be a major concert site. The Beatles played here to screaming fans in August 1964. Bob Dylan played here the day after he went electric in Newport Beach. Jimi Hendrix opened up for The Monkees here, before he quit the tour because he couldn't stand their music.
The stadium hasn't hosted a tennis tournament since 1977 and is currently in a state of disrepair.

Johnny Cash was born in Kingsland, AR on February 26, 1932. J.R. (as he was called) was fourth of seven children. The Cash family lived in Kingland until they moved to Dyess, Arkansas when he was three years old.
Today, there is a plaque in Kingsland commemorating the birth of the American music legend.

George Harrison's family moved to this location in 1950.
While initially a good student, he had an epiphany while riding his bike around. He heard the Elvis tune "Heartbreak Hotel" coming out of a window and was hooked. He directed his energy into music instead of schoolwork after that.
Harrison and McCartney became friends in 1954. After Harrison showed Lennon how he could play the song "Raunchy" in 1958, he became a member of John Lennon's early band, The Quarrymen.

Paul McCartney lived at this location with his mother, father, and brother Mike (born January 7, 1944) from in his birth in 1942 until his family moved to 20 Forthlin Road in 1955.
In 1954, he met George Harrison on the school bus since they were both attending grammar school.
