sunset boulevard house
from sunset boulevard (1950) posted in movies by pete_nice
Former screen star Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson) lives in a dilapidated mansion at "10086 Sunset Boulevard", when struggling screenwriter Joe Gillis (William Holden) hides from creditors here in the 1950 film Sunset Blvd.
The house that was used for the filming was actually at the corner of Crenshaw and Irving. The mansion was originally built in 1927 for the US Consul in Mexico, William O. Jenkins. Interestingly, Jenkins was kidnapped and held for ransom while on the job.
After the house lay abandoned for 10 years, it was purchased by oil man Jean Paul Getty for his second wife. After their divorce, she was the one who rented it to Paramount Studios for the filming.
The house was torn down in 1957 for the Getty Oil Building (now called the Harbor Building).

The Burlington Mall is the main filming location for the 2008 Kevin James vehicle, Paul Blart, Mall Cop.
While I haven't seen this movie, from the trailers I've gathered this is where Kevin James murdered funny. With a ham sandwich.
Luckily, the second installment of the franchise is arriving in April 2015.

from bruce lee posted in movies by crabapple
On July 20, 1973, Bruce Lee and his agent, Raymond Chow, visited this apartment (then known as Bik Wah Court) of Taiwanese actress, Betty Ting Pei. She lived in Flat A3/1F.
After working on a script for awhile, Lee complained of a headache (he had been diagnosed several months prior of cerebral edema). Pei offered him a Equagesic- a type of painkiller that included a muscle relaxer. Lee took the mediaction and then took a nap, and never woke up. He was pronounced dead at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
