Kurt Cobain spent his first two and a half years of life in the nearby city of Hoaquiam, WA. His family then moved to this address in Aberdeen, to a neighborhood called "The Flats."

Many of Cobain's locations are in walking distance from this address, including the Young Street Bridge that he used to hang out under, two blocks away. The bridge goes over the Wishkah River; From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah draws its name from this location.

The band started at this location, practicing in a shed in the backyard.
