Michael Douglas wanders in here disheveled in his once white suit after being buried alive (oops... spoiler... maybe) near the end of David Fincher's The Game. Apparently, this style of building is called Googie architecture, some sort of offset of a futurist style (parabolas and neon and steel) that was popular during the '50s and '60s.
Johnie's Broiler was a restaurant from 1958 until 2001, then a car dealership, then the building was demolished and then later rebuilt in its original style. Now it's a Bob's Big Boy. The Game isn't too bad if you suspend absolutely all disbelief.
